Years ago, he chose duty over love. He's not sure if he can do it again.
Charlie "Knox" Bennett traded medical school for the Navy and never looked back. After almost eight years of working top-secret missions for the commander in chief, Knox's greatest regret is lying to his best friend. But when his father decides to make a run for the White House, and with the fate of his team resting in the hands of the future president . . . the truth threatens to come out.
Following in her mother's footsteps to serve and protect, Adriana Foster joined the Secret Service, never expecting one day she'd be assigned as detail to her best friend's father. After twenty years of keeping her true feelings hidden from Knox, will working together finally be what pushes them out of the friend-zone?
As Adriana and Knox track down the shooter who attempted to assassinate his father, they soon realize they're not the only ones who have been harboring secrets. With both his family and a teammate in grave danger--can Knox make the tough choice of putting everything on the line, even if that includes Adriana?
In what could be Knox's final mission, he may win the battle, but he could lose his heart.
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
“Because you’re the kind of person a man risks everything for.”
Finding the Way Back is an amazing friends to lovers stories and will teach all your broken hearts to hope again. I laughed, gasped, and sighed while reading this book. This story is one that you can read over and over again.
We know a little about Knox from previous books, but get to dive deeper into his life in this book. As the son of a political man, he has had to sacrifice a lot and make hard choices that put his dreams on the back burner. One of those choices was remaining friends with his long time friend, Adriana. Is it worth it to see what’s between them when their lives were constantly tearing them apart from each other?
“There are other reasons I’ve convinced myself to stay away. I’ve been waiting for the right time, but I don’t think right times exist, do they?”
Adriana is one of the strongest heroines I’ve read about. She’s also selfless and kind, putting others before herself. She even stays with her best friend when she’s not sure he feels the same.
“You rarely ever looked at me like you wanted me,” she said, trying to make sense of his words.
“There’s a reason why I’m good at covert ops and poker.”
Oh my gosh this story is super cute and I loved reading about Knox and Adriana. This book covers their entire adult life, so I felt as though I really go to know both of them and the background, which is so important for this story.
“They’d found their way back to where they always belonged, hadn’t they?”
Side note: I need more about AJ right now. I absolutely loved reading about him!!!!!!!!!
Hey, I’m Bre! I have been pulling all nighters to read since I was in middle school, and nothing has changed since. My love of reading turned into a love for writing and I now have my dream job — being a writer. I also get to wear pajamas to work, which is a pretty nice perk.
I love Starbuck’s tea, organizing, the ocean, and buying too many purses and books. Is there such a thing as too many purses or books? I have two energetic toddlers at home so I mostly read to stay sane.
While I genuinely enjoy a variety of genres, I enjoy getting lost in the paranormal and fantasy world and nothing can melt my heart faster than a small town romance.
