From the international bestselling author of The Simple Wild comes Forever Wild, a novella that continues the story of Calla’s journey to the Alaskan wild and a life she never imagined for herself.
The holiday season is upon Calla and Jonah, and with the mistletoe and gingerbread comes plenty of family drama. Jonah is bracing himself for two weeks with a stepfather he loathes, and while Calla is looking forward to her mother and Simon’s arrival, she dreads the continued pressure to set a date for their wedding … in Toronto. Add in one bullheaded neighbor’s unintentional meddling and another cantankerous neighbor’s own family strife, and Christmas in Trapper’s Crossing will be anything but simple.
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
MY HEART. It always feels so full after a KA Tucker book, but especially after being in Calla and Jonah’s world, and this little novella was no different. It had me overflowing with so much emotion that it came out of my eyes. (But like, tears of happiness, I promise!) Small spoiler ahead, but fairly obvious if you have read the last two books!
As usual, being back in Alaska has given me that nagging sense of wanderlust, with the world so lush and vividly describe by Tucker. Aside from my adoration of Jonah, that might be one of my favorite things about this series. It really takes me somewhere else, and Trappers Crossing is a perfect getaway to ease some of the 2020 worries.
Calla and Jonah as a couple have become absolute goals. The love they have for each other knows no limits, and the way Jonah just adores Calla steals my heart over and over again. I was so excited to finally have ALL of the family together, and it became SUCH AN IMPORTANT TIME! WE FINALLY GOT TO SEE THEM MARRIED!!!!!
You know who I really love… ROY. Talk about character growth! Calla really broke his walls down and I am so excited to see if we get more of his story in the coming books. I feel like so many characters have stories that need to be finished, and I cant wait to see if that happens!
While I despise that their specific story has come to an end, it could not have wrapped up more beautifully. They have both had so much growth as characters, and really settled in to Trappers Crossing, and built a bond with so many that became like family to them. Of course, she couldn’t end the book without an emotional explosion, so I boo hoo cried right at the very because it was PERFECT.
Tucker never ceases to amaze me and steal my heart with characters and writing. If you haven’t read this series, do it ASAP! Its perfect for winter and Christmas. You wont be disappointed!
