Fed up with his fluffy articles and the app-based dating scene as well, he strikes a deal with his boss to write a final piece de resistance: How to Lose a Girl. Easier said than done when the girl he meets is Hannah Mayfield, and he's not sure he wants her to dump him.

Before Jack and Hannah know it, their fake relationship starts to feel all too real—and neither of them can stand to lose each other.

I really really liked Andie’s writing. I am 100% looking forward to reading more from her in the future.

As soon as I discovered this was a modern version of How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, I KNEW this book was for me. I loved the reimagined idea of Andie’s, I loved the way she worked with the story and made it her own. I will also say this was so much steamier than what the incredibly cute cover led me to believe it was, so just be warned of that lol

So, tbh, I’d like to ignore in general the first like 10 or 20% of the book, because I think if there are flaws in this story at all, that’s where they all are. It felt too much like instalove –, especially on his part. Which is weird, given that on the rest of the book, their connection flows and develops wonderfully. I think with the way this story works, it would have made it better if they didn’t have immediate feelings for each other, otherwise, he can definitely come up as a huge asshole for what he’s doing. Making it instalove for him doesn’t help the plot. At all.

Also, the pace on that 10-20% didn’t help the matter. But luckily afterward the plot picked up an incredible pace and for the life of me, I could not stop.

Both of the main characters were amazing, Jack was one of the most charming characters I’ve ever read in my life, and I truly don’t think it’s possible to read this without falling in love with him. And Hannah absolutely earns the readers’ love as well, her attitude is VERY relatable in a way, and going through this journey with her was pretty cool. Also, reading her experience dating as a biracial woman was not something I’ve read before and I loved having that perspective. Their relationship is also completely wonderful and I LOVE them together. I mean, THEIR FIRST DATE WAS TO GO GET TACOS DE CARNITAS FOR GOD’S SAKE. How much more perfect can they get after that? lol

What I loved the most is the things they both learn about love and relationships on their journey, which is honestly not something I’ve seen developed this way in any other book I’ve read and I truly feel it makes the story stand out. They both get better, they both understand their own flows when they hadn’t seen them before, and they both make peace with the fact that they’re not perfect.

This story had me laughing a lot, it had me charmed and in love, and it had me thinking and learning big lessons along with these characters. I highly recommend it.
