Research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey is convinced that someone is taking out her team one by one. First, a friend and research partner was killed in a home invasion. Three months ago, her boss died in a suspicious car accident. Four days ago, another partner supposedly committed suicide. And now Caitlyn herself has miraculously survived a hit-and-run. Afraid for her life with nowhere to turn, she reaches out to one of the victim's husbands, Detective Josh Solomon.
Though initially skeptical about Caitlyn's theory, Josh soon realizes that the attack that took his wife's life was anything but random. Now the two of them must discover the truth about who is after Caitlyn's team--and what their end game is--before it's too late.
In this nail-biting thriller, award-winning author Lisa Harris will have you believing that there's no such thing as random.
I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Caitlyn Lindsey and Josh’s story hooks you from the very beginning. I’m not always a fan of Tech/Medical/BioTerrorism subjects but I think Lisa Harris did a phenomenal job with this one. There wasn’t a ton of technical details but enough to catch your attention and help you understand everything in the story.
This book grips your mind and your heart the minute you begin the book. The amount of suspense throughout the book also keeps you completely entertained the entire time you read. There wasn’t a clear who did it and there were a lot of twists and turns. There are many parts of this story that come together in the end and you take a wild ride with Caitlyn and Josh. Both were such strong characters, but I loved how Josh overcame so much on his journey and he did it together with Caitlyn.
I know some people can be skeptical about Christian Romance, but I feel that Lisa did a great job incorporating religion and faith in a humble yet not preachy way. I think it helped bring Josh and Caitlyn together and helped develop them as characters.
Lisa Harris hit a homerun in my book with this one. Definitley pick it up!
During the day, I am the Sales Manager for Blackwing and after work, you will find me playing with my dog and/or reading! I also love spending time with my family and boyfriend, doing yoga, cooking, working out, watching the San Francisco 49ers, and during the summer you can find me salmon fishing.
My favorite book genres are Romance, Contemporary Romance, Fiction, and Suspense, Christian Suspense. Sometimes I dabble in other genres depending on my mood or the author.
