After reading Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon, I knew that I was going to love this book—and I was correct!! Rachel Lynn Solomon has this unique way of writing stories and characters that I immediately fall in love with, and that is exactly what happened with Quinn and Tarek. I connected with Quinn and her anxiety about romance that followed her throughout the book, and her character growth and the idea of love expanded in a way that all I wanted to do was give her a big hug. Tarek’s love of grand romantic gestures was so heartwarming to see as well, and it was interesting how he and Quinn moved around one another throughout the book and how they fit together in the end. Their romance had tension, cute moments that I could not get enough of, but I especially loved the fact that Rachel Lynn Solomon writes her couples by emphasizing the necessity for strong communication in any relationship.

By intertwining the realities of romance and sex, Quinn and Tarek embodied a relationship that sparked sex-positive conversations that expand into the lives of those who read this book. By the end, I was completely invested in Quinn and Tarek’s story and I felt that Rachel Lynn Solomon captured the feeling of summer love that I could not get enough of! Additionally, the topic of mental health was balanced and executed beautifully in this book, and I found myself relating to Tarek and Quinn in various ways that only emphasized how much I loved this book.

By tackling different conversations about mental health, love, self-love, insecurities, family, religion and much more, We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This embarks on a wedding-filled summer that captures the essence of what it means to find yourself and how to continue falling in love with life.
