Love Is Blind meets You’ve Got Mail in this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy following two thirty-somethings who meet on a blind dating app—only to realize that their online chemistry is nothing compared to their offline rivalry.
Perpetually cheerful and eager to please, Gracie Cooper strives to make the best out of every situation. So when her father dies just months after a lung cancer diagnosis, she sets aside her dreams of pursuing her passion for art to take over his Midtown Manhattan champagne shop. She soon finds out that the store’s profit margins are being squeezed perilously tight, and complicating matters further, a giant corporation headed by the impossibly handsome, but irritatingly arrogant Sebastian Andrews is proposing a buyout. But Gracie can’t bear the thought of throwing away her father’s dream like she did her own.
Overwhelmed and not wanting to admit to her friends or family that she’s having second thoughts about the shop, Gracie seeks advice and solace from someone she’s never met—the faceless “Sir”, with whom she connected on a blind dating app where matches get to know each other through messages and common interests before exchanging real names or photos.
But although Gracie finds herself slowly falling for Sir online, she has no idea she’s already met him in real life…and they can’t stand each other.
I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I feel like a word that will always come to mind with this book is enchanting.
This book made me swoon, sigh, cry, and laugh. Allllll of the emotions.
I felt such a connection to Gracie with her love for fairy tales and daydreaming her dream life and love life. She was such an incredible protagonist to follow, not just because of her love for all things romance, but also because of her dedication and love for her family.
Sebastian is a buttoned-up, somewhat broody, sexy dude. The chemistry between Gracie and Sebastian is just so perfect! You can always feel the tension and they made such a perfect duo for this enemies to lovers story. Their verbal sparring was just the icing on the cake and I am always a sucker for good banter.
Seeing the relationship between Lady and Sir while reading about Gracie and Sebastian was absolute perfection. I adored seeing the softer versions of each other come out with their texting and then see all the passion and intensity come out when they’re back in the real world and not knowing who they already are to each other.
Overall, I absolute adored this and it was like being wrapped up in a sugary sweet and warm hug. And I felt pure joy throughout the whole reading experience! The New York vibes were perfect along with enemies to lovers in a softer way. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a huge romantic, loves daydreaming about their own fairytale, and loves a sweet and soft romance. This was beautifully written and kinda sorta makes me want to jet off to New York to find my own Sir.
Hey there! I’m Jess and I love to read! Shocker, I know. It is my form of self care and I’m always reading something. Whether it’s a steamy sports romance or YA fantasy, I’m always immersed in a story. My favorite tropes are sports romance (especially hockey), hate/enemies to lovers, and anything with a lot of angst and tension.
When I’m not reading, I’m hanging out with my sweet dog , working as an exercise specialist at a physical and occupational therapy clinic, or hiking. And potentially browsing the aisles of bookstores…
