[Krysten’s Review]: In Fury Lies Mischief by Amo Jones

She was everything that I wanted.

Killian Cornelii was a walking calamity. He reached inside of me and touched every single inch of my ruined soul, but he didn’t just touch it. He caressed, petted, and captivated it. He tailored me to fit into the palm of his hands. The same hands that possess so much cruelty, were the very same that comforted me.
I thought I knew him.
He thought he knew me.
This isn’t a fairy tale, or some achingly beautiful story about two soul mates who instantly fall irrevocably in love with each other.
This is a story about a love so painful, so rich, that it destroys everything and everyone around it.
Including ourselves.

Midnight Mayhem is the platform to which Killian performs his tricks on, but the greatest trick wouldn’t come from him.
It would come from me.

Tricksters don’t have hearts.

Ladies & Gentleman, Welcome back to the dangerous world of Midnight Mayhem. This time we’re in the sinfully mad mind of Killian, another of the four Brothers of Kiznitch, and Saskia, the new spitfire addition to the Midnight Mayhem carnival. The push and pull of these two characters is palpable from the introduction and I am HERE FOR IT. It’s gritty, violent, and darkly romantic. Killian and Saskia, each other’s villain and savior. Throughout the book the energy between them is magnetic and Amo brings. the. fire. I mean it… it’s hot. Did I say hot?? Throw some gasoline on a wildfire and it still won’t touch how hot this book is. 

“Killian is filthy, but I’ve been bathing in him for so long, that when I do walk away, I’ll be doing so with remnants of his poison pumping through my veins.”

Saskia is our new firebender with a past that unravels to tangle with Killian’s and Amo brings us back into the same world we left off in In Peace Lies Havoc. Our well-loved characters are back in action in this book too, for those of you (like me) that loved King and Persephone. Yes, we get a bit of them too and that had me living for this book. 

But as their past unfolds, can our Trickster and our Little Dragon move towards a future? Can Saskia Royal bring Killian Cornelli (the man who can get any woman he wants) to his knees? Can they bind together through their pain and trauma? The families of Kiznitch have more secrets to unfold and Saskia is hiding something.

I will admit, I’m Trash for In Peace Lies Havoc, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and these characters. It sang to my dark, depraved little heart and I can’t wait for In Silence She Screams, Book 3, about Kyrin. Where are they selling tickets to Midnight Mayhem? I’d like a lifetime membership please.
