My name is Dove Hendry.
Mine is Kingston Axton.
I was captured by darkness.
She has always been ours…
They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control.
She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn’t know it yet...
But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.
A culture that she is about to become the center of.
The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.
Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason…
Mind-tricks.
Stunts.
Deceit.
Power.
But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.
And maybe lived under your bed…
When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.
His whispers were silenced.
His shadow dissolving without a trace.
I wondered why that was.
She didn’t have to wonder for long…

“I hold my breath, overwhelmed with his proximity, but addicted to his touch. I like him like this. I need him like this. His danger has always drawn me in. There’s power that comes with being touched and caressed by a dangerous man.”

Cue: Carousel by Melanie Martinez

Ladies & Gentleman, Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. You must be this tall ⇢ to ride this ride. Come into play land where your darkest dreams come to life. When I think of escaping into the oblivion and running away with the circus, my mind wouldn’t even begin to reach the shadowy depths of this delicious depraved tent.

Dove, the beautiful, orphaned, ballet dancer who is stolen away to perform alongside the infamous Brothers of Kiznitch. Kingston, the leader of the four brothers, the archetype of the king of darkness, the addiction I never want to quit, has a mission…and it could end in killing the girl he can’t keep his hands off of.

“I can admire that he looks like a fucking god, but that doesn’t make me one of his disciples.”

I couldn’t stop reading this book; I feel like I highlighted half of it. I delighted in its debauchery and was lured in one wicked word after another. A word of advice when reading this book, when a song comes on… play it while you read. If there is one necessity when visiting Midnight Mayhem, it’s Amo’s playlist made for madness. I am forever a fan of Amo after this one. Fans of dark romance will love this one. Go ahead. Buy a ticket. I dare you. Free on Kindle Unlimited!

“You wanna do this?” he asks, though his hands are gripping for my tank. “Speak now or forever hold your fucking peace, Little Bird.” I do what any girl would do with Kingston Axton half naked on top of them, wanting to eat you alive. I hold my fucking peace.”

Oh Hi! I’m Krysten (@ladyofbookshire). Wife. Mom to two fur-babies. Lover of Fiction, Fantasy, Romance and I spend every day (almost) trying to make Romantasy an actual genre. It’s my favorite. I call sunny Orlando, Florida home. That’s right… i’m 15 minutes from Disney World. I mainly only text in GIFs. I have a ridiculous sweet tooth. I’m originally from Maryland. The only thing I may love more than reading is coffee… this is still up for debate. I’m passionate about finding new stories and sharing them with others and am always open to having a reading conversation. Not a fan of love triangles unless they are done really well and I love dark romance… especially a dark romantasy. That genre will always call to my heart.
