New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey returns with a unique, sexy romantic comedy about a young married couple whose rocky relationship needs a serious renovation.
Rosie and Dominic Vega are the perfect couple: high school sweethearts, best friends, madly in love. Well, they used to be anyway. Now Rosie’s lucky to get a caveman grunt from the ex-soldier every time she walks in the door. Dom is faithful and a great provider, but the man she fell in love with ten years ago is nowhere to be found. When her girlfriends encourage Rosie to demand more out of life and pursue her dream of opening a restaurant, she decides to demand more out of love, too. Three words: marriage boot camp.
Never in a million years did Rosie believe her stoic, too-manly-to-emote husband would actually agree to relationship rehab with a weed-smoking hippy. Dom talking about feelings? Sitting on pillows? Communing with nature? Learning love languages? Nope. But to her surprise, he’s all in, and it forces her to admit her own role in their cracked foundation. As they complete one ridiculous—yet surprisingly helpful—assignment after another, their remodeled relationship gets stronger than ever. Except just as they’re getting back on track, Rosie discovers Dom has a secret... and it could demolish everything.
I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Holy wow this was an amazing book! Rarely I see a book about an already married couple and the trials they have to face as time passes and they also face their own insecurities. As Tessa Bailey mentions in her Acknowledgments, she was inspired by her own life, adding in her amazing talent in crafting characters that stay with you with their own flaws and hilarious moments!
Rosie and Dominic Vega, married and considered one of the couples that got their HEA, are on the verge of divorce. Rosie’s insecurities and fears along with Dominic’s emotional absence lead her to leave her husband. Dominic on the other hand, after coming home from the Army, faces both his memories and also his traumas from his time overseas.
Add in the attempts of everyone around them to help them get back together, a marriage therapy guru who likes to smoke weed and lots of sexual tension and you’ll probably combust from the feels by the end of the book! I had enjoyed and laughed out loud with the first book of the series “Fix her Up” and I had hoped that this would be the sequel. Rosie and Dominic were truly realistic in their emotions and insecurities and they tried to find a way to communicate, something that was, in the end, vital for both their marriage and their lives.
Not to mention that the humor was a good relief between the heavy emotional burden both Rosie and Dominic had to unload And a certain cowboy will get his due surely in the next book!
Tessa Bailey never disappoints and I am sure you’ll enjoy this amazing sequel!
