KISS, MARRY, SCREW — Which three of the Immortal Guardians would you pick for each?
Hmmm. If I answer that one, certain females in the series will want my head on a platter… and I’m pretty sure they’re better with a katana than I am. 😉 So I think I’ll take the safer route and instead name three Immortal Guardians I’d most like to sit down to dinner with: Seth, David, and Zach. All three fascinate me, not just because they’ve lived so long and seen so much, but also because they managed to keep their sense of humor through it all and just seem like they’d be a LOT of fun to be around.
If you were to live in the Immortal Guardians world, which gift/special ability would you like to have? Or, would you be a Second?
I would most want to be able to heal with my hands like Seth, Zach, and a few of the others. And I would definitely want to be an Immortal Guardian rather than a mortal Second so I could have their super-speed and strength. I would get soooooo much more done in a day. 😀
You’ve done time travel/crossover books in the Immortal Guardians world. Which was most fun to write, the contemporary/modern day setting, or the historical/medieval content?
In the time travel book (Rendezvous with Yesterday), I think the medieval scenes were the most fun to write. I’ve always enjoyed seeing how characters in books or movies react when they are taken completely out of their element… so I loved seeing Bethany’s reactions to Robert and his men, as well as to the time period. I also loved THEIR reactions to HER and some of the comedy it spawned. Also, because Immortal Guardians Seth, Roland, and Marcus have lived so long, it was really fun to go back and show them in the medieval setting in The Gifted Ones books. Roland was what was considered a “young” immortal then. And Marcus was still a mortal teenaged squire. Seth was pretty much himself, but I liked seeing him in chainmail and on the back of a horse instead of in his black hunting togs wielding a katana. 🙂
Will we see more time travel in future books, or get to check back with the characters from those books?
I don’t know yet if I’ll write more time travel books in the future, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all. I had a lot of fun with Robert and Bethany’s story. Even if I don’t, however, you’ll still get to see the characters from The Gifted Ones books again. There are several more medieval stories I’m eager to write in that series. Readers have been requesting Meghan’s and Geoffrey’s stories in particular, and both characters have been sparking scenes in my imagination for quite some time now.
If you could describe the Immortal Guardians series in 5 words or less, what would it be?
Action, passion, humor, and romance.
Seth has led the Immortal Guardians for thousands of years. With them fighting by his side, he has protected humans from psychotic vampires, defeated corrupt mercenary armies, defended military bases under attack, and more. But the latest enemy to rise against the Immortal Guardians has proven to be a formidable one, wielding almost as much power as Seth. His goal is simple. He wants to watch the world burn. And he will use every means at his disposal to accomplish it. Seth and his Immortal Guardians have succeeded thus far in staving off Armageddon despite heartbreaking losses. But they have never before faced such danger. Seth has only one wish: to protect his Immortal Guardians family and ensure the continuation of humanity by defeating his foe. But then Leah walks into his life and sparks a new desire.
Leah Somerson has suffered losses of her own. It has taken her a long time to rebuild her life and find some semblance of peace. Then one night a tall, dark, powerful immortal with what appears to be the weight of the world on his shoulders stumbles into her shop, and everything changes. Peace and contentment are no longer enough. Now she wants more. She wants to find happiness. She wants to erase the darkness in Seth’s eyes and replace it with love and laughter. She knows he’s different in ways that make most fear him. Even some of his immortal brethren keep a careful distance. But Leah will not. Nor will she shy away when danger strikes.
