Thea Quinn has no idea what she is. All she knows is that her abilities have been a plague upon her life since she was a child. After years of suffering at the hands of a megalomaniac, Thea escaped and has been on the run ever since.
The leadership and protection of his pack are of the utmost importance to Conall MacLennan, Alpha and Chief of Clan MacLennan, the last werewolf pack in Scotland. Which is why watching his sister slowly die of a lycanthropic disease is emotional torture. When Conall is approached by a businessman who offers a cure for his sister in exchange for the use of Conall’s rare tracking ability, Conall forges an unbreakable contract with him. He has to find and retrieve the key to the cure: dangerous murderer, Thea Quinn.
Thea’s attempts to evade the ruthless werewolf are not only thwarted by the Alpha, but by outside dangers. With no choice but to rely on one another for survival, truths are revealed, intensifying a passionate connection they both fight to resist. At war with themselves and each other, Conall and Thea’s journey to Scotland forces them to face a heartrending choice between love and betrayal.
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
“…you’ll come across more bad things this world has to offer. But don’t ever forget that there’s love and kindness in this world too.”
I finished this book this morning and I already want to re-read it. I loved every part of Thea and Conall’s story. They were so strong apart, but once together they were both weaker and stronger.
“A wolf is only as strong as his heart, and my heart belongs completely to you. So who really has the power here?”
Thea’s story is amazing. It was heartbreaking yet I wanted to know more. She had been through so much but continued to stay strong and fight when it would have been easy to give up.
“Like he knew she had been fighting for too long. Like he knew just once someone should care enough to fight for her.”
Conall was such a strong alpha male. A lot of times with alpha males you get the strong side but never get to see their soft side. Conall has a soft side, but doesn’t really show it since he always needs to be strong for his pack. He needed Thea to bring that vulnerability out.
“Who would hold her when he had to let go? And why did the thought of Thea alone, without him, make him want to tear the world apart for its cruelty?”
Hey, I’m Bre! I have been pulling all nighters to read since I was in middle school, and nothing has changed since. My love of reading turned into a love for writing and I now have my dream job — being a writer. I also get to wear pajamas to work, which is a pretty nice perk.
I love Starbuck’s tea, organizing, the ocean, and buying too many purses and books. Is there such a thing as too many purses or books? I have two energetic toddlers at home so I mostly read to stay sane.
While I genuinely enjoy a variety of genres, I enjoy getting lost in the paranormal and fantasy world and nothing can melt my heart faster than a small town romance.
